Hi

NW OES version: NW6.5 SP7

We have a DELL CX500 with two FC disk trays. Tray 1 has a 4-node NW cluster and the second tray has a 3-node NW cluster. Nodes are attached with dual FC HBAs and use powerpath. The nodes are DELL PE 1950

The nodes in the second cluster all see the SAN partition twice:

WHNW-13:list devices
0x0001: [V700-A0-DF:FF] EMC POWERPATH CONTROL DEVICE rev: [HDD]
0x0008: [V100-A104-D4:0] Dell Virtual CDROM 123 (USB) [CD]
0x0009: [V100-A104-D4:0] Dell Virtual Floppy 123 (USB) [FLOPPY]
0x000A: [V025-A1-D0:0] HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR-T10N f/w:1.02 [CD]
**0x000D: [V599-A3-D0:0] f/w: [HDD]
0x000E: [V599-A3-D1:0] f/w: [HDD]
0x0019: [V372-A2-D0:0] DELL PERC 6/i f/w:1.11 [HDD]
0x0020: [V599-A4-D0:0] f/w: [HDD]
**0x0021: [V599-A4-D1:0] f/w: [HDD]

(The **'d entries denote the SAN devices).

The startup.ncf file is:
LOAD ACPIDRV.PSM
######## End PSM Drivers ########
LOAD IDECD.CDM
LOAD SCSIHD.CDM
######## End CDM Drivers ########
LOAD IDEATA.HAM SLOT=10023
LOAD MEGA_SAS.HAM SLOT=10024
LOAD POWPATH.CDM
LOAD QL2X00.HAM SLOT=1 /LUNS /MAXLUNS=8 /ALLPATHS /QUALIFIED /PORTNAMES /LUNZERO /SKIPREPORT
LOAD QL2X00.HAM SLOT=2 /LUNS /MAXLUNS=8 /ALLPATHS /QUALIFIED /PORTNAMES /LUNZERO /SKIPREPORT
######## End HAM Drivers ########
env NDSD_TRY_NMASLOGIN_FIRST=true
LOAD KEYB.NLM United Kingdom

Can someone advise if
a) seeing two devices is problematic (the DELL engineers said it was fine)
b) how to resolve

We can see no difference between the nodes on the first cluster (which are working fine) and the second cluster.

Kind Regards
David
