    SLES10SP2 samba join crashes DSFW xadsd daemon, known problem?

    Hi,

    I installed OES2SP1+DSfW (32bit) in a Xen VM, but everytime I join a
    SLES10SP2 machine (also verified with a FC10 machine), the xadsd daemon
    crashes as soon as I start smbd on the joined machine. I noticed that I
    can workaround this with "client use spnego = No" after join and before
    starting smbd. Is this a known problem? If not I will file a SR.

    Franz.

    smb.conf:
    [global]
    workgroup = AD
    printing = cups
    printcap name = cups
    printcap cache time = 750
    cups options = raw
    map to guest = Bad User
    logon path = \\%L\profiles\.msprofile
    logon home = \\%L\%U\.9xprofile

    use kerberos keytab = Yes
    # the next option needs YES for domain join and NO afterwards, otherwise
    the daemon xadsd on OES2SP1 will segfault
    # client use spnego = Yes
    client use spnego = No

    Hi,

    yes, this is like the smb.conf on my OES2SP1 server, but what I posted
    was the smb.conf of a SLES10SP2 samba "domain member". If there is a
    problem in my domain member setup vs. DSfW I would like to know too, but
    according to the samba documentation it should be right. Also it works
    fine as long as I set "client use spnego = No".

    I believe the fix will be available in OES2 SP2 since member servers will be supported with that version.

    OES2-SP1b-i386-CD1.iso
    this is what i downloaded. still it has the issue
    the moment i try to add a SLED11 SLED10 SLES10 or RHEL5.3 machine to the DSFW domain this is what i face.
    for sled and sles i use the built in windows domain membership to add it to the dsfw domain while for RHEL i make changes to the smb.conf and pam files to try to add it.

    You have new mail in /var/mail/root
    in either case i m pretty sure the procedure which i am following is not incorrect as things work just fine when i add the machines to a windows AD.

    sorry for the repeated posts... this forum doesnt allow me to edit my previous posts...
    is there any unofficial estimate as to when OES2 SP2 will be launched.
    i can tell our clients to wait for it if its worth it.
