We are attempting to deploy the ZCM 10.1.3 PreAgent to workstations in our student labs. The agent however does not install but crashes at launch with errors as listed below:

ZenPreAgent.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugger Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled
Process ID=0xfe8 (4072) Thread ID=0x474 (1140)

and when the error is terminated/ignored a second error pops up.

ZPA_Iface.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugger Services
Process ID=0xb80 (2944) Thread ID=0x79c (1948)

The workstations are all up to date with MS patches, XP SP3 as well as all .Net from 1.1 to 3.5 with relevant SPs. No Novell client or other agent installed.

Can anyone assist with a solution or further suggestions? We have already tried to remove or change other packages installed but due to the number and mix required by the lecturers we havn't been able to identify one or combination of software packages causing the problem.

Software includes java JDK, Visual Studio 2005, SQL 2005 express, IIS and other programming and development environments
