Is the following 'Monitor' screen normal for a NW6.5SP2 server running
BM3.8SP2a with bm38fp3b? The server is an IBM x245 with a single CPU of
2.4GHz and 1.5 GB of RAM :

Utilization: 2%
Server up time: 1:22:04:04
Online processors: 1
Original cache buffers: 392,087
Total cache buffers: 236,207
Dirty cache buffers: 65
Long term cache hits: 93%
Current disk requests: 126
Packet receive buffers: 10,000
Directory cache buffers: 18,567
Maximum service processes: 4,000
Current service processes: 1,908
Current MP service processes: 7
Current connections: 1
Open files: 18,571

Look at how many 'Directory cache buffers' and 'Current service processes'
have been allocated. I also find 'Open files' and 'Current disk requests'
(although it fluctuates) to be quiet high. The server is a dedicated proxy
server.

I'm asking because randomly, the proxy will respond to web request with a
'Memory allocation error' page instead. If I unload proxy and reload it,
then it will be ok for a while (but less than a day) but if I reboot the
server instead, then it will take a few days before the sympton reappears.
Server has been doing this when it was BM3.7 on NW6. Now it's BM3.8SP2a with
bm38fp3b installed on a NW6.5SP2 server and still acts that way! :-(

Also, we have a server that 'monitors' (running naggios) the other servers.
One thing it does is ping the servers at

interval and will report when a server is unreachable. At least once a day
(at different time), it warns that the

proxy server is unreachable.

I've noticed that the server is showing errors in the lan custom statistics
(through Monitor.nlm). The NIC is a

Intell 100B. Here's what I saw :

Custom counters
Tx DMA Underruns 1,771
Rx Good Frames 325,257,500
Rx No Resource Errors 57,314
Rx DMA Overrun Errors 3

But the generic counter 'Receive discarded ,no available buffers' is showing
0.

What follows is the config.txt for this server. Thanks.

; This is a sample of the slp configuration file.
; Two types of entries can be made: 1) DA entries, 2) SA Register Filters.
;
; The DA entry allows static configuration of a known DA. This would be
used
; when the DA was out of multicast range and DHCP was not being used to
; configure the DA.
; The static DA configuration format is as follows 'DA <addr type>,
<addr>'.
; The first word must be "DA". The addr type is the address type.
Currently, only
; IPV4 has been defined. IPV6 will be defined in the future. The addr is
; the address specified.
;
; The following is an example of a static DA.
; DA IPV4, 130.1.1.1
;
; The SA Register Filter would be used when the administrator wanted all
services
; of a specific service type being mapped to a single scope. For example,
; the administrator wanted all "lpr" printers being registered to scope
"printer".
; The format is as follows: 'REGISTER TYPE "<type name>" to SCOPE "<scope
name>"'.
; The parser will look for REGISTER, TYPE, and SCOPE as keywords followed
by quote on
; a single line. Example:
;
; REGISTER TYPE "lpr" to SCOPE "eng"
;
; The last line must contain a line feed and char return. A semi-colon
specifies a
; comment.
