Hello all....

Well, we have pretty decided to scrap Arcserve 11.1 for NetWare, mostly
because the database it uses is not good enough to handle all the files we
are throwing at it. And my boss is fed up with it.

So we are looking for an alternative.

We have been reading about how a lot of the solutions now go to a Windows
server that has an agent installed on NetWare servers and that is OK with
us. I'm assuming that this would also allow us to back up our Windows
servers too. But I also want to start converting to Linux from the NetWare
kernel. So, in a nutshell, here is what we want:

1. Runs on NetWare, Windows or Linux, doesn't matter, but it must back up
all three.
2. Must handle multiple SCSI tape drives at the same time.
3. Must handle hundreds of thousands of files every night.
4. Must handle files of very small size ( 1 KB or less ) and very large size
( 4 GB + ) with equal ease.
5. Management Console runs on a Windows XP Pro desktop computer and must not
take all day to sift through the database to restore a single file.
6. Reasonably priced. ( I know, I know, this last one is relative....)

Thanks in advance for the help...
