Hello,

in two separate trees I just setup 2x BM3.8 Servers. One is the BM3.8
Style Master, this one was upgraded from BM3.6 last week.

The other one was setup like described in Craig's book and TID
10095268, following all steps very carefully.

Before this I also cleared out all remains from the former try to get a
legacy VPN site-2-site up and running, the VPTUNNEL board still
remained and did not load.

I cleared all entries (sections) in the cfg files in sys:etc,
doublechecked with "find.exe" that no more entries for VPTUNNEL were
left in any of the files in sys:etc. The CSL.* files were deleted.

OK now this is my (unhappy) result:

After the slave was entered in the iManager for the master, I issued
another "reinitialize system" at the slave side and get:

reinitialize system
--->>
SYSINIT: Binding IPX to Q57_1_EII_E82.
SYSINIT: Binding IPX to VPTUNNEL.
SYSINIT: Could not find board VPTUNNEL.

SYSINIT: Binding IP to VPTUNNEL.
SYSINIT: Could not find board VPTUNNEL.

SYSINIT: Binding IP to Q57_1_EII_EII.
SYSINIT: Binding IP to PUB_DFE_1_EII.

inetcfg tells for the boards:

PUB_DFE_1 DLKFET - - - 4 Enabled Inetrne...
VPTUNNEL VPTUNNEL - - - - Enabled -

-----------------------------------
Here a VPTUNNEL board *DOES* exist, and it was created during the new
style site-2-site setup.

The VPN Master Server Console tells:
------------------------------------
7.03.2005 21.38.51 : CSL-2.6-20

----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the MASTER the static route to the Slave's site is in inetcfg (next
hop = Slave Tunnel IP address), it shows up in tcpcon.

At the SLAVE the static routes to the networks "inside" the MASTER's LAN
are in the static routes list (inetcfg) but the do *NOT* show up in
tcpcon (also next hop = tunnel IP of the master)

Despareted... tired.

Any suggestions where to dig next?

Especially: Why tells the slave server that the VPTUNNEL board doesn't
exist, when it *DOES* get listed in it's inetcfg->Boards?

And why do the in inetcfg listed static route entries not show up in
tcpcon?

Any ideas appreciated,

Regards, Rudi.
