Last week Novell announces a partnership with Astaro. A firewall that
happens to run a hardened SUSE Linux kernel. I previewed the product as a
consideration to replace my current firewall appliance just yesterday.Very
robust I might add. BM can't even come close to its feature set. My reseller
is hinting that he is hearing unofficial rumblings of BM's demise. BM3.8 is
long overdue for a facelift. Linux already has squid. So if you put two and
two together why reinvent the wheel when you already have the
pieces.Novell's push is obviously all things Linux. So is the writing on the
wall for what seems to be the inevitable end of the product? Maybe I am
making to much of the coincidental evidence and maybe not.
