We don't, as a rule, use document integrations, but I'm pretty sure people turn it on and use it anyway. MTA/POA Agent 7.0.3 on NetWare 6.5 SP7. Clients are 6.5 up to 7.0.3.

I (the Librarian) am trying to clear a ton of old documents out of our single library. I choose the message(s), hit Delete, and then get some choices:

Remove document from folder
Delete selected version from library
Delete all versions of document from library

If I choose either the second or third choice I get the following in a Windows error box:

GroupWise Error (E501)
Unable to delete document.
E501: The requested document version is in use, checked out, archived, or otherwise not available.
TY-LIB1: 4590.1

Finding where they've been used, checked out, archived, etc. is a near impossibility (partly since I don't know how). How can I get rid of these orphaned documents?
