We currently run OES 1 with the NW kernel...essentially NW 6.5 with the latest SPs. For file access, we only support CIFS for file access. This is especially important as we utilise WAN acceleration devices that optimise CIFS traffic but the NCP optimisation is much less efficient.

My question is, can you default the Novell Client (XP/2003 or Vista Client 2) to use only CIFS when doing file access? We are ok with NCP being left and don't want to full block it because we might want some of the client features like password syncing etc.

The question is, can you either:

1) Disable NCP for file access completely or
2) Set a priority to use SMB/CIFS instead of NCP.
