I have a brand new HP/Compaq DL380 G5 server, which was a migration from
an older server, running NW6.5 SP7 and with the latest available drivers
from Compaq. The latest (and last) release of Backup Exec for Netware
was loaded on this server as an agent/remote, but the backup is run from
the same server as before. This is a Groupwise server, so TSAFSGW is
also loaded, and BE includes the OFM option.

When attempting to back up this server, after re-selecting (as BE
apparently couldn't see it properly even though it assumed the
name/role/address of the old server) the volumes, files, etc ... as soon
as the backup starts, the new server abruptly dies & restarts.

The abend log shows nothing, not even noting that the server abended.
The error log reads as follows at the end of this message.
This is, unfortunately, a quad-core server, as someone didn't listen to
my specifying two dual-core processors that were available. I have
disabled half the cores in the BIOS, but I'm assuming that leaves 2
cores active.
STARTUP.NCF loads ACPIDRV and also uses HPQCISS (while the prior server,
a DL380 G4, loaded CPQRAID instead.)
The server was built using a NW6.5SP7 overlay CD, and the latest
available SureStart CD that supported Netware, then it was updated with
a download from HP because the version of SURVEY.NLM that came with the
server was known to cause abends.

I have very little to go on to know what to do about the restart, since
I don't even have an abend log, but clearly it is related to the backup
as otherwise the server is very stable.

The other thing I note is that when viewing the volumes on the old
server, an "Open Files" device appeared to be installed, while this
server doesn't show anything like that. I don't have that info so I
don't know why this looks different, only showing me the actual volumes
I defined, but I've made sure all the identical drivers are loaded etc.
except for the raid driver noted above.

I need some clues about where to start, as obviously we need backups to
work.

Error log, mentioned above, shows only this from right before the abrupt
restart:
