I recently upgrade all of my servers, including a BM 3.8 server, form
NW6.5sp1 to NW6.5sp3. I started having problems with the server startup. It
would simply hang with high utilization while running the autoexec.ncf. I
did install Winsock, tcpip and a number of other patches. After NW patches,
I loaded all recent BM patches. After noticing that all of my servers
suddenly developed java issues after the upgrade, I decided to rename the
sys:java directory to java.old on the BM server. BM loaded quickly without
issue after that. I have not had the usual nagging proxy issues since then
either. Are there any consequences to renaming the java directory? This
server only runs BM. Nothing else.
