Has anyone encountered an error where time synch is active but the date &
time are not set on the server? This occurred the other day on a NW 6.5 SP6
server and many of our Windows XP workstations changed their times to the
year 2036. This resulted in users not being able to authenticate to Active
Directory. The workstations are running Novell Client 4.91 SP2 minimum.

Time appeared to be in synch in NRM when I checked but this is what showed
on the server console a few minutes later:

CROWN:time
Time zone string: "EST5EDT"
DST status: ON
DST start: Sunday, March 14, 2010 2:00:00 am EST
DST end: Sunday, November 1, 2009 2:00:00 am EDT
Time synchronization is active.
Time is NOT synchronized to the network.
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 3:44:34 am UTC
Date and time are not set 6:12:50 am EDT\

timesync.cfg:

# TimeSync.Cfg is now updated automatically,
# when changes are made on the System Console

# TIMESYNC Configuration Parameters

Configured Sources = ON
Polling Count = 3
Polling Interval = 600
Service Advertising = OFF
Synchronization Radius = 2000
Type = SECONDARY
NTP Client Port = 0

# TIMESYNC Configured time source list

TIME SOURCE = TIMESYNC-1.SERVER.UFL.EDU
TIME SOURCE = TIMESYNC-2.SERVER.UFL.EDU

Unloading timesync and reloading corrected the problem. Any ideas what would
cause this and how to prevent from happening again?

Thanks,
