Thanks again to Joe Marton, Massimo and Rainer with their tips on setting up NSS on SLES (with OES2 SP1). I've setup the NSS storage on a Proliant DL360 G5 with an MSA50 and it is working fine.

My followup question is that now that the NSS storage is setup and we are getting ready to use it for file storage are there any tips or best practices on making sure NSS is healthy?

Do I have to regularly do some sort of NSS maintenance or NSS health checks? I have NSS on Netware volumes but don't really do any NSS health checks on them. They just work :-)

However with NSS on SLES do I have to do some NSS health checks/maintenance and could you point me to some documents
regarding this? I'm new to Linux so I'm still trying to get used to the

Thanks in advance,
