I have an application that goes through the internet to post
information
to a sql server remotely. first try did not work got blocked
then i found out
i have an application that writes to a microsoft sql server database
from
outside a local network

the people there have a We are using a Novell BorderManager proxy
server
The firewall must be configured to permit port 1433 incoming (or the
port
numbers that SQL Server listens to on TCP/IP), and ports 1024 to 65535

outgoing
I also found out
If trying to get inside of the network from outside you need to setup
one-
to-one NAT to tie an external address with the internal address

I am talking to the network people at the set

If we need to do NAT to get this thing to work, it's not going to
happen.
We are running an Application Proxy as our County choice. We can do
NAT
or Application Proxy, but not both

Can they make this thing work??????????
