I would like to create a proactive tool that will help my GW sys-admin measure the time it takes to make various actions in GW clients (for example, sending an email with a dummy doc attachment to another GW user).
Does anyone have experience in creating a 'synthetic transaction' of mail while measuring the time it takes to complete the transaction?

At the moment, we have no tool to measure the response time. Usually we become nervous when there are many user complains. It would be nice to be proactive and know about slow response times before our helpdesk is swamped with phonecalls...
