I have BM 3.6 Eneterprise Edition running with GWIA 6.02. I have
repeatedly
attempted to set filtering as per Craig Johnson's books ( I have bothBeginner's Guides -- BorderManager and Configuring Filter Exceptions)
and
per TID10009647. When I have filtering set with the pertinent
exceptions, I
can send out via GWIA, but not receive. I cannot access my isp's
pop3/smtp
either. I cannot access a news reader either, but that may be the
lack of
connectivity in pop3. When filtering is unloaded, all access returns.

This is getting frustrating.

When setting up the GWIA exceptions per TID10009647 I used my private
IP
Address as the Source TCP/IP Address (the location of my GroupWise
system).

NAT is set to the public interface in dynamic mode. NAT implicit
filtering
is off. Since I am able to use everything with filtering off, I am
assuming
this is not a routing issue. I do have the HTTP, FTP, News, Real
Audio, and
DNS Proxies enabled in BM.( I did not even try FTP or Real Audio with
the
filter exceptions on. I can deal with that stuff later. Mission
critical
first!)

Additioanlly, is it good practice to use the Mail Proxy while running
GWIA
on my system?
