We have heard that upgrading GroupWise 7 clients to Groupwise 8, requires that a full uninstall, CleanIt utility, and then a fresh install of GW8 be done.
Apparently, this is especially true when a change is made to the client options of sent item tracking (Track All information, Track only Delivered, etc)

Is all of that really necessary? In the past we've always just installed clients over the top of the old client and that worked very well.

Can anyone provide advice on this based on their experience?
