We moved our embedded Sybase database to an external Sybase server a few months ago and now its time we reduce the resources on our primary servers.

Our environment runs on VMWare 3.5.0 so this is very easy to do, but I'm looking for advice as to how little we can run on.

We have about 6500 users and 1800 managed devices spread across 3 primary servers. All 3 primary servers have 8gb of ram, which I think might be overkill and I'd like to reduce this number to 4gb.

Also 2 of the 3 primary servers are utilizing 4 vCPU cores, but 1 is running fine on just 2 vCPU's. I'd like to reduce all servers to 2 vCPU's.

Any thoughts or advice?
