In the days with NetWare SLP, Novell had a nice doc on setting it up and basically said to not setup more than two DA on your network.

We've done that and it's worked well (mostly). However, we have a LOT of regional WAN sites where the links are not always reliable. Since the DA's are located back at our main office, if the WAN link is down, people usually get a "tree or server could not be found" because the PC can't get to the DA.

With OpenSLP, since it's not eDir aware, is there still the "you should not have more than two DA" still applicable?

Would it hurt/harm to basically have a DA on every server and point the clients accordingly?

Or is there a better way to handle the whole mess?
