We are in the process of moving to an AD environment but using zenworks for application management. We have created a CIFS share on our zenworks server to allow workstations to still access the application distribution share without client32. This is not working very well at all. Users are able to see the new CIFS share but many of our applications will not deploy and error out. When we utilize a windows share and point our AOs to distribute from that share everything works perfectly. Also when deploying from the windows share users do not have to be athenticated to edir or ad to deploy apps from app explorer. So it appears that it is the workstation that is authenticating. How do we get this to working with the CIFS share or is this a limitation of CIFS? I'd hate to have to move all my apps to a windows share before I can start removing client32.
