We would like to move a production (data) NetWare 6.5sp7 NSS volume, residing on a SAN, to a new server that has Linux/OES2 installed. The process we are considering is to remap the SAN volume from the NetWare Box and present it to the Linux/OES2 box. We have done a non-production, small scale test of this, and the Linux/OES2 box did pick up, and mount the NSS volume. Of course we needed to "update" edir and all that for access, and objects...

Should we be considering this? The NSS volume does have quite a bit of compression (compressed files). Issues with this technique? Seems very seemless for a migration plan of NetWare to Linux, maintaining NSS.
