We have a problem with pure-ftp on our OES2 sp2 servers, we have to set our client to active mode to have access to files. In passive mode we either don't see anything on the server side or we can't browse. There's no error in /var/log/messages, PassivePortRange is commented out and there's no firewall involve. All tests were made with Filezilla and Core FTP.

Strange enough, if I start pure-ftp with only pure-ftpd on the command line instead of rcpure-ftpd start it seems to work fine exept that there a lot of pam and ldap errors in messages, not really a alternative.

Any idea?
