Intermittently when users receive an attachment and save the file to their local drive (C:), the file will be saved as Read Only. Other times they can go thru the very same exact saving steps, and the file will not be read only. This happens with all Office applications (Word, Excel, etc). When a user right clicks on an attachment, selects Save As, then saves the file to their local C: drive, why doesn't it always save the file as Read/Write? Actually, the majority of the time the file has Read Only attributes. It's only a small percentage of the time that the file is Read/Write. In order to be able to edit the document, the user has to go to the Properties of the file and remove the Read Only attribute.
