When a VPN connections is established through the Fortinet Firewall the client receives the correct DHCP reservation but with in 30 seconds loses the IP and Forticlient default 169.x.x.x is assigned.

The problem occurs on fully patched Windows XP SP3 with Novell Client 4.91 SP5 and Forticlient 4.12.138.

- Installed latest Forticlient 4.12.138
- Confirmed DHCP Reservation settings are correct
- Disabled 'Use DHCP for SLP' in Novell Client (Novell TID)
- Renamed NOVDHCP.dll in Novell Client (Novell TID)

The problem does not occur on Windows XP SP2 with Novell Client 4.91 SP3 and Forticlient 3.0.614.

Troubleshooting Steps

- Updated Novell Client to 4.91 SP5 - VPN connection was stable
- Updated Forticlient to 4.12.138 - VPN Connection was stable
- Updated Windows XP SP2 to SP 3 - VPN Connection gets DHCP reserved IP for less then 30 seconds and then Forticlient assigns default IP
- Remove Novell Client VPN Connection was stable

Seems to be a combination of Novell Client 4.91 SP3 or SP5 and Windows XPSP3.
