In our environment users login with a user alias object that is in the form of first.lastname. This alias object references an 8 character posix user object.

Currently Zenworks doesn't properly handle an E-Directory alias object as a user source, so we have Zenworks referencing the 8 character posix user source. We have a TID (7000024) on this issue that doesn't seem to be going any where at this point.

Our Issue:
Currently when a user logs in at the Novell login prompt on windows 7 with their first.lastname alias credential it will pass the Novell authentication and will then prompt the user with a zenworks login prompt. At this point the login prompt is autofilled with the first.lastname credential that was used during the Novell authentication. If a user continues to enter their password with this credential the user will receive the following message:

Windows Security Message
Unable to log into the network because the login credentials or the server certificate is incorrect.

At this point the user can either cancel the zenworks login which continues to windows without login the user into ZCM or the user can change the Zenworks login to the 8 character posix credential and Zenworks will login properly.

In the back ground Novell has logged in properly in this process and has dereference the alias login to the 8 character posix user object. What I am looking for is a way to pass the novell authenticated user (posix) to the Zenworks agent for login.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
