We have a bunch of HP ML350 G5 servers running NW65SP8 and installed with eDir 8.7.3.10. We have recently upgraded all servers to eDir 8.8.5.2, and over the weekend 6 servers reported the following error on the console screen:

ERROR: Critical sectioning prevents requested FATFS operation
ERROR: Critical sectioning prevents requested FATFS operation
ERROR: Critical sectioning prevents requested FATFS operation

The servers are hung up and we're forced to do a cold boot to bring the servers back online. I have done some research, and identified applying DOSFAT.NSS as a possible solution. Some questions:

Does this still make sense?
What drawbacks are related to this fix?
Are there any other suggestions on the NetWare side to address this?

I'm also looking for any insight folks might have for what to check for with respect to HP drivers.

I appreciate any info that folks could provide.

Thanks!
