I have a certain web server that I want to block permanently by IP
address, but the name of the server keeps changing. So far I haven't
figured out a way to do this. I don't know if it can be done at all,
and if it can, whether it is a packet filter thing or an access rules thing.

Our packet filtering on BM 3.8 is set up to block all incoming and all
outgoing packets. Then we have exception rules in place that allow BM
to access any address on ports 80 and 443. This would seem to prevent
blocking the server through packet filtering.

In access rules I tried adding a restriction for the IP address, but as
I expected, it doesn't work when a user tries the server's latest name.

Is there a practical way to block the IP address for good, or do I just
have to wait for the Linux-based successor to BM 3.x? :-)
