I purchased a cell phone at Costco at the beginning of December, and the
purchase was eligible for a sizeable rebate. I just received the rebate in
today's post. It was a POST CARD. I mean, I personally am not the type to
fold a blank piece of paper around a check in an envelope to disguise the
contents, but I thought this was pretty odd that the check came without any
enclosure, showing the amount of the check clear as day.

One of my theories on why they do this is that it doesn't look that real,
and folks will throw the checks away uncashed <heehee>.
