Some time ago a consultant recommended to us that when installing Netware on a VMWare guest, that the VHD should be configured in Independant - Persistent mode, such that "changes are immediately and permanently written to disk". We never really questioned this at the time, but configuring disks in this way means that snapshots cannot be taken.
Is there any reason why the virtual disk should be configured in this way? Have had Netware VMs running happily in "non-Independent" mode - the default disk config - without any issue.
