According to the documentation, the DNS proxy (BM3.6 Enterprise
edition)
will add the contents of \ETC\HOSTS to its cache. But when my GWIA
does a
reverse DNS lookup via the DNS proxy for 192.168.0.99 (which has an
entry
in HOSTS), it always goes out to the internet for resolution - which
then
times out because it is a private IP address.

Is this because the DNS Proxy only uses HOSTS entries for forward DNS?
Or
does one have to enter the data differently in HOSTS if it is a
reverse
DNS. - or is it not looking in HOSTS at all, despite the
documentation?

I don't particularly want to install a DNS server just for one
exception
as the DNS proxy seems to work well in all other respects.

Any ideas?
