I'm running a NW6sp2 server with BM37sp2. The server is a DL380G2
1.4GHz
dual processor with 2Gb RAM.

I'm running Surf Control and have run into problems with the
cspconfig.ini
alloc setting not being large enough. It is now set at
CDB_PREALLOC_SIZE=190
which should be ok for the time being as the database is approx 150Mb.

I've noticed a couple of issues with the server memory.

Original cache buffers are 588,931
Total cache buffers after reboot are 436,740 - this figure decreases
steadily over a period of weeks/months to approx 350,000 and the
server will
then abend when the it is updating the surf control database which
approx
2am.

I don't have the abend log entries as they weren't posted to the abend
log
this time. The CIM monitor says

ASR lockup detected: Code executing in module proxy.nlm v3.71a.

Is 2Gb RAM enough and can I safely set the alloc to something like
250,
bearing in mind that this doubles when the updates come down?

Is there some kind of memory leak which eventually knocks over the
server?

I know that I'm behind on NW6sp3 and BM37sp3 but I'm planning to apply
these
anytime soon following Craigs notes on his web site. Will this cure
the
problem??

Any help appreciated.
Paul.
