Im trying to setup nss volumes on a new oes2 linux server. During the install I got an error message that said Can not create nss admin object (something close) with no option to fix it. I click ok, the install finished fine. Now I dont have the option to setup EVMS in the partitioner and have a bunch of nss error messages in the log files. Error message is as follows:
ncp server ping FAILED rc=2
[! 2010-04-06 16:04:48] IPCClient::Open connect failed rc=2
[! 2010-04-06 16:04:48] IPCServRequest open/send/received failed rc=2

Running nssmu I get an error that says can not update nds and the following in the logfiles:
GetVolumeNameFromGUID: volumeName tag not found
[! 2010-04-08 09:01:15] SendChangeVolumeStateEvent: guid(d09b9148-430e-01df-80-00-a03d40a14244) to name failed rc=22
[! 2010-04-08 09:01:15] ASYNC[2] SendChangeVolumeStateEvent failed rc=22
[! 2010-04-08 09:01:15] GetVolumeNameFromGUID: volumeName tag not found
[! 2010-04-08 09:01:15] SendChangeVolumeStateEvent: guid(d09b9148-430e-01df-80-00-a03d40a14244) to name failed rc=22
[! 2010-04-08 09:01:15] ASYNC[10] SendChangeVolumeStateEvent failed rc=22

Ive run through various tids and found one for sles9 that doesnt seem to fit. What can I do to get EVMS in the Partitioner tab? Or how can I start to debug this? I removed the server and objects from the tree and did another fresh install only to find the same behavior. Existing server in container is running NW 6.5 SP 7a with eDirectory 8.7x. This is the 3rd OES 2 sles 10 server Ive installed. They have all had challenges, but this is the first time I ran into this. I do have 3 drives that dont have partitions on them just waiting for me to setup the nss volumes on them. df -h show:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 924G 2.9G 921G 1% /
udev 4.0G 164K 4.0G 1% /dev
admin 4.0M 0 4.0M 0% /_admin

Thanks for any help or pointers. Im going to try and grab any patches I can find.
