Hello:
I am looking for feedback / information re OES 2 SP2 Linux or what ever
the newest version might be.
First some perspective:
Under soon to be declared dead Netware several 3rd party audit Software
vendors e.g. Blue Lance, Netvision had product that would audit NSS
Filesystem events like
File/Directory opens
File close
File/Directory deletes
File/Directory renames
File/Directory move
File/Directory trustee changes

They would report the "perpetrator" by their eDirectory dn.
You would not see "Supervisor" in the audit reports.
This was a very good thing because like most people I do not know anyone
legally named supervisor.

I have heard rumors of an issue with NSS file system event audit in the
OES Linux environment whereby events like
File/Directory opens
File close
File/Directory deletes
File/Directory renames
File/Directory move
File/Directory trustee changes
would be reported as having been perpetrated by "supervisor", the flaw
not being with the audit tool but with the OS.

This is an issue that is to be addressed by Novell with a patch to OES 2
SP2.

Can anyone out there shed any light on this ?

Thanks in advance
