I've always assumed that when the BM proxy forwards a browser request
to
the outside world it does so on port 80, just like a normal,
un-proxied
browser would. Is this correct?

The reason I'm asking is that we're using proprietary software at a
client's that seems to require some sort of .INI info about not only
how
to reach the proxy (server_address:8080) but about other things as
well. I frankly think that the answer to my question may be
irrelevant
but I'm trying to answer it nonetheless.

Apparently there is also an issue with the version of SOCKS being
used?
Isn't this a w/s issue? Is SOCKS used by BM in any way and, if so,
how
would I give these folks the version number for that? (SOCKS version
is
one of the things they want in their .INI file.)

Many thanks in advance.
