I need to make an inventory of the files that a legacy application is using on a Netware 6.5 SP8 server.
This app has been in use for over 10 years and now documentation longer exist on what (sub)systems are using the files its creates or other dependancies.

Our developers believe the fastest way to get a picture of what is going on, is to scan the directories each minute to determine what files are being created, modified or deleted and if possible, who is accessing which files.

I begun working and a batch job (dir /s /q) to run every minute thru all directories and send all info to a table so I can keep track of files, but the scan takes about 120 sec to complete (about 20.000 files are involved).

Now our Windows Administrator told me about file auditing and how it might work with snmp or logging to get a real time picture of these events.

Is there a function in Netware that I can activate or a tool that I can install that will do this or something similiar?
