Hello All,

Got a bit of strange problem with Google search results - its been
happening for a month or so....

If I click on a link for a google search from IE, it takes about a
minute
for the page to load. But if I carry out the exact same request from

Opera the page loads instantaneously - this is whilst both browsers
are
configured to use the BorderManager proxy service.

If I re-configure IE to use an alternate proxy (Symantec) the links
work
fine.

Looking through the logs I see that the IE request receives a "204 -
No
Content". But the GET request that IE makes is different to the one
that
Opera makes. IE makes the following:
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=T&sta...//xxx.xxx.com/
xxx.htm
(this returns the 204)
whereas Opera does a completely different request starting with
"http://pagead-us.googlesyndication.com/" and it returns the expected
200.

Strange thing is the 204 is received regardless of which proxy I use
but
when not using the BorderManager proxy, the browser continues to load
the
correct page (!!?)

I'm Using BorderManager 3.6 on NetWare 5.1 sp3. BM isn't patched at
all
(another story...) but has been working absolutely fine up until
recently.

Any help on this one is much appreciated.

Regards
Shuhel
