Hi,
we have a signing certificate with SHA2-256 signing algorithm. This
algorithm should be supperted by "Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES
Cryptographic Provider" (testing on Windows 7 64bit). The provider is
there, I have a dump of all available cryptographic providers:

Provider Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider v1.0 is type 1
Provider Microsoft Base DSS and Diffie-Hellman Cryptographic Provider is
type 13
Provider Microsoft Base DSS Cryptographic Provider is type 3
Provider Microsoft Base Smart Card Crypto Provider is type 1
Provider Microsoft DH SChannel Cryptographic Provider is type 18
Provider Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0 is type 1
Provider Microsoft Enhanced DSS and Diffie-Hellman Cryptographic
Provider is type 13
Provider Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic Provider is type 24
Provider Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider is type 12
Provider Microsoft Strong Cryptographic Provider is type 1

GroupWise client displays only providers of type 1 (which means
PROV_RSA_FULL), but the Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic
Provider which is needed for SHA2 is of type 24 (PROV_RSA_AES).

I assume that GroupWise queries Windows for the list of providers and
filters them by type = ignores the Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES
Cryptographic Provider.

Is this a bug, or is it intended behavior and it is not possible to use
SHA2 with GroupWise ? Other e-mail clients use the same certificate
without problem.

I'm posting this here, because in the blog post about GW 8.0.2 public
beta
(http://www.novell.com/communities/no...-now-available)
there is a link to Novell Forums saying "Feedback on Public BETA can be
provided here".

This is (of course :-) urgent and our customer is waiting for some
solution, does anyone have some solutilon please ?
Thanks, in advance,
Petr
