The following paragraph is from the BM documentation "How forward caching
proxy works"

"When a client sends a request to a proxy server through a browser, the
proxy uses HTTP and the GET method. The client (browser) uses HTTP when
communicating with the proxy, even when accessing an object on a remote
server that uses a different protocol, such as Gopher or FTP. If a
different protocol is being used, the proxy will identify the protocol
and will use that protocol and the full URL to make the request. The
proxy server has all the information necessary to make the request to the
remote server."

proxy already takes care of ftp downloads for me provided I use the

Can I still use the browser for NON anonymous ftp downloads/uploads?
