Hi,

We have installed 2 BM38SP1a servers. These 2 servers are configured to
use 3 Squid caches upstream to retrieve data, using a 2nd NIC in the
servers on a 'private ICP network'.

We have configured the servers as Cache Hierarchy Clients and said it
must forward through the hierarchy. We have put the neighbours in as
follows:

192.168.10.1 Proxy Port: 8080 ICP Port: 3130 Type: Parent
Priority: 1
192.168.10.2 Proxy Port: 8080 ICP Port: 3130 Type: Parent
Priority: 1
192.168.10.3 Proxy Port: 8080 ICP Port: 3130 Type: Parent
Priority: 1

We see 2 things happening or not happening :

1. A tcpdump on the squid boxes shows no UDP ICP requests from either
of the BM servers (they are configured to accept requests however - we
know that is working). The BM servers are accessing the squid caches
using port 8080 but no ICP.

2. All requests are sent to 192.168.10.1 and not load balanced over the
3 servers - we want the 3 upstream squid boxes to have equal
weight/priority when answering requests as they all have the same
hardware spec/bandwidth.

Any thoughts etc. on where to start looking? We are pretty sure it is
on the BM side that the fault lies.

Thanks
Mike
