I know this sounds like a windows/sysprep problem, but I've asked in the MS forums, and gotten no help. I hoped maybe somebody could offer some insight here.

I have a windows 7 image built, with a kms key installed. I'm sysprepping it, and I have the Zen SID changer disabled, and it seems to work fine except for one problem:
When I restore it to hardware that is different that the original, it doesn't generate a new CMID for the kms activation. The activation state says "Additional grace: kms license expired or hardware out of tolerance".
When I restore it to the original hardware, it works fine, and generates a new unique CMID. The licensing status shows it in it's "initial grace" immediately after imaging.

Would the Zen ISD service be touching the KMS client's CMID?
