Not sure if this has been discussed before. What do you all do when you have mulitple primaries as far as workstation registration? Are you all registering the workstations to one primary in your zone, or are you staggering your registration amung all primaries?

Reason I am asking, is we are currently working on having one primary and two satellites service each site in our WAN (current zone config is in signature).

Current Configuration:

SITEA -> PrimaryServerA (all registration) -> SatelliteA1 & SatelliteA2(content/imaging)

SITEB -> PrimaryServerB -> SatelliteB1 & SatelliteB2 (content/imaging)

SITEC -> PrimaryServerC -> SatelliteC1 & SatelliteC2 (content/imaging)

The setup would be like the following:

Five campuses in our WAN.
Each Campus has two satellites that distribute content and images
Each Campus has a parent primary in the zone.

Proposed setup:

SITEA -> PrimaryServerA (registration) -> SatelliteA1 & SatelliteA2(content/imaging)

SITEB -> PrimaryServerB (registration) -> SatelliteB1 & SatelliteB2 (content/imaging)

SITEC -> PrimaryServerC (registration) -> SatelliteC1 & SatelliteC2 (content/imaging)

Would it be best to register workstations at each campus with their parent primary? We currently are registering all our workstations to one primary server (first primary introduced into the zone), in addition to use closest server rules to determine where devices pull content.

Thanks,

Patrick
