I have noticed 'errors' in ndsd.log, but this is an NCP error, so I have been re-directed over to this forum... ;-)

e.g.
SSG Thread 4:115 taking too long to service a request (66:-1) - replacing with a new thread
SSG Thread 19:112 taking too long to service a request (66:-1) - replacing with a new thread
SSG Thread 13:173 taking too long to service a request (66:-1) - replacing with a new thread
SSG Thread 16:132 taking too long to service a request (66:-1) - replacing with a new thread

I can find references, but no description or help with these messages.
Anyone know what, how, etc.? Is there a way of tracking the problem through the numbers (e.g. 24:332 and or (66:-1)? Any relationship to specific connections?

I have been asked to tune various parameters:

This could be NCP trying to get additional resources, therefore I suggest we make the following changes to the server configuration:
Make the following change to /etc/opt/novell/ncpserv.conf :
- MAXIMUM_CACHED_SUBDIRECTORIES_PER_VOLUME 100000 change this to 300000

- At the following parameter in /etc/opt/novell/nss/nssstart.cfg :
/idcachesize=131072

- Increase the threads of ndsd
ndsconfig set n4u.server.max-threads=256

These have been applied, but still getting these errors on our cluster nodes...

I would really like to try and establish exactly what it going on here....

Could this be related to ncp connection slots?

I am asking within an SR, but would appreciate any information/experiences people have to offer - I shall also post back anything useful I get

Thanks
