Hello. I'm just getting started with LUM. In reading the Novell LUM Technology guide it says in one of the steps in the login process that the server "find the location of the Linux/Unix Config object listed in the local nam.conf file".

It is my understanding that there should be only one Unix Config object in the tree and it should be where the admin user is - which it is. But if for login to occur this object needs to be read, then does that mean that the server must walk the tree if it does not contain a replica of the partition where the Unix Config object sits? And if the WAN for example goes down, logins will fail? Are there any recommendations regarding partitioning/replication of this object, because I haven't seen any. Or am I missing something? Thanks very much.
