We're looking at getting rid of the Novell client for our Windows XP workstations. I understand one way to do this and to keep NSS volumes on the backend (with all of the benefits) is to "expose" them via DSfW (CIFS).

However, we currently do have eDirectory fully configured, and a separate AD domain set up for Windows applications, such as exchange, with all user names/passwords synced manually for a seamless login experience.

Is it possible to set up DSfW in a scenario such as this? Would I need to create an additional AD domain through DSfW and configure trusts between them for network drive mappings and such?
