We regularly get Netware alerts due to low directory cache entries on our
CACHE volume. The volume is traditional, compression and suballocation off,
Craig's proxy.cfg installed.

We have a weekly cronned job to unload and reload proxy.nlm with the -CC
command, which clears the directory entries issue. Question is, can I run
this during the day - will it disconnect or cause issues for users accessing
the internet? Does unloading proxy.nlm disable proxy services completely?

The alert is more of a cosmetic issue as far as I can see. More of a problem
is that we have a big screen at one end of the office displaying traffic
lights from all the Netware Remote Managers, and if there are any alerts at
all everybody notices and a dozen people come over and point it out.
