I'm planning to upgrade our BM3.6EE on NW5.1sp7 to a new NW6.5 server, and
then install BM3.8. I've got a second machine with the same hardware as
the old server, so my plan is (to try and minimise downtime for the
organisation's internet access):

- Create a clone of the old server using Portlock storage manager
- on lab network, migrate the clone to NW6.5 on the new hardware
- install and configure BM3.8 on the new server
- down the old server and replace with new

Is this an amusingly naive idea, and what are the major gotchas I'm

My reasons for not just setting up a new server in parallel is not wishing
to change the public IP address of our primary route to the Internet.

Thanks as always
