Hi,

We have a web application available over the net for many of our
customers. Some of our customers use the BorderManager proxy server and
they experience a few problems with our application.

The problem is that the BorderManager calls the URL the user requested and
the user's browser also performs the same request. The order in which
these calls are made seems to be random. When the BorderManager calls the
URL first, our problems begin...

Since we keep information in a session on the server this causes problems,
especially when the BorderManager's request (first request) updates the
session, and then the browser's request (second request) tries to use the
session, which is now modified.

I've been able to pin point this problem by looking at our web server's
logs (see below...). We use Apache 1.3.33. Our ISP does not use
BorderManager. Only some of our customers use it. Customers that do not
use BorderManager have no problem with our web application.

Is there a way to prevent the BorderManager to perform the first request??

What can I do to help my customers solve this problem??

Here's a sample of what I see in my web server's log files... Notice
the "BorderManager" string in the user-agent telling me that the customer
uses the BorderManager proxy server. Also, notice that the requests were
sent twice to the web server (one for the BorderManager, one for the
browser).
