I've setup rsyncd on my "host" which is OES2 SP2 64-bit linux.

I want to "serve up" the files from an NSS volume.

I've defined all the stuff in the little brackets and my path is like:

On my OES2 "clients" my rsync command is something like:

rsync -ravz --delete SERVER1::SOFTWARE /media/nss/VOL1/localdirectory

When I had my rsyncd "server" on NetWare (obviously not supported) everything worked (except that the rsync NLM would crash)

But on OES2 I'm getting this error:

rsync: link_stat "/." (in SOFTWARE) failed: Permission denied (13)

the top snipped of my rsyncd.conf file is:

uid = nobody
#gid = users
gid = nobody

read only = false
use chroot = true
transfer logging = true
log format = %h %o %f %l %b
log file = /var/log/rsyncd.log
pid file = /var/run/rsyncd.pid
#hosts allow = trusted.hosts
slp refresh = 300

# path = /home/Example
# comment = An Example
# auth users = user
# secrets file = /etc/rsyncd.secrets
path = /media/nss/DATA/software
comment = main office software
read only = no
use chroot = no
timeout = 3600
transfer logging = yes

Any ideas? someone mentioned that NSS on OES2 need to use "native linux" for LUM or something in order to work.
