We're gearing up to move from our NetWare server/NDS environment to a Windows server/Active Directory environment. Of course, being a NetWare shop for over a decade, we have a few thousand workstations in the field that load the Novell client and display the Novell login prompt when the machines boot.

We're looking for the best way to disable this prompt when we do the cutover at each site. So far, we've found that disabling the "Initial Novell Login" field in the "Advanced Login" properties seems to do the trick. Of course, this means that the client is still loading and taking up memory during. Our goal is to minimize any Novell resources running on the workstations after the cutover without having to reimage all the workstations.

Are there any other strategies that others have used or are aware of?
