This single issue is driving me nuts. I have just rebuilt one of my BM Servers because of it

--------------------------------------------------------------
Install Path used
--------------------------------------------------------------
NW 6.5.0 - Default server install
NW6.5.sp4a
BM3.8.0 - VPN services not installed, NULL TCPIP nlms
HTTP Proxy installed
BM3.8.sp3
BM3.8.sp4
NW6.5.sp5

-------------------------------------------------------------
Inetcfg Settings
-------------------------------------------------------------
two interfaces
no secondary ip addresses
no NAT translations

--------------------------------------------------------------
BMSnapin Setup Settings
--------------------------------------------------------------
Transparent Proxy listening port set to port 80, no exceptions
HTTP Authentication not enabled ( All Macintosh Clients )
No content filtering installed ( yet )

--------------------------------------------------------------
BMSnapin Access Rules applied
--------------------------------------------------------------
Allow Application Proxy HTTP, Any, Any
Allow URL, Any, Any

--------------------------------------------------------------
Filters Applied
--------------------------------------------------------------
Default automatic filter execptions installed

--------------------------------------------------------------
Initial traffic results after install
--------------------------------------------------------------
Transparent Proxy for http traffic works fine
TRANSPARENT Proxy for https traffic DOES NOT work.
Manual web browser http proxy settings does work - BM internal ip address:8080
Manual web browser https proxy settings does work - BM internal ip address:8080

--------------------------------------------------------------
To get transparent https to work I have tried the following unsuccessfully:
--------------------------------------------------------------

1.
Adding port 443 to the Transparent Proxy Tab listening field in NWAdmin bmsnapin.
Downing Apache2 in case there is a port conflict.

2.
Removed port 443 from Transparent Proxy Tab listening field.
Added stateful filter definition
private-> public, any, any www-https-st
to bypass proxy altogether
reinitialized system

In either case, I can not get unconfigured client web browsers to use HTTPS. The bm server will
not handle secure web requests from unconfigured web browsers.

------------------------------------------------------------------
The solution I need is this:
------------------------------------------------------------------

What do I need to configure to allow the proxy to Intercept and Process HTTPS traffic
transparently ? What am I missing here?
OR
What do I need to configure in Filtcfg, BMSnapin to pass stateful, non proxied, HTTPS through
traffic.

Have I already stated this is driving me nuts! I can't make it any simplier
